For your final paper, please select one of the following options to write a medium-length paper of 1500-2500 words. 1.     In Sophocles’ tragedy Antigone, the characters Kreon, Antigone and Haimon discuss the relationship between the political state and the individual. Both Euripides and Plato are interested in the relationship between morality and traditional religion. For Pentheus, the rites of cult of Dionysius offend his idea of right and wrong. Euthyphro’s understanding of goodness as a preference of the gods inspires his legal prosecution of his own father. How do Plato and Euripides formulate the relationship between religious custom and ethics? Do the gods offer a clear idea of right and wrong? If not, are the gods wholly immoral?  Also, what are the similarities and differences in the approaches of theatrical drama and philosophical dialogue in addressing the issue?
