APA format

Teaching plan:

A detailed and comprehensive teaching script including time intervals, who presents if a group presentation, and specific and description of content for each section of the presentation or activity.

Introduction (Hook and Overview of objectives)

Beginning (Objective 1- What’s my main problem?)

Middle (Objective 2: 3 or 4 main actions to take, or health goals to meet)

End (Objective 3: Why is it important, consequences/risks or benefits)

Evaluation of Objectives (Teach back or Return Demonstration to confirm understanding) The Evaluation should include specific details, activities or questions used to confirm participant knowledge or skills gained using health literacy principles (ACTS). What activity/s or questions will you use, and how will you assess if the objective is met or not?

Conclusion/ Summary (Asking “What other questions do you have”)?
Provide 1 local/community resource for additional resources/information for your participants

For the first part I am attaching a powerpoint with intro, beginning, middle, end information that can probably be copy and pasted with a little buffering to the script.
This is suppose to be written as if I am teaching the entire “lesson” by myself.

Teaching Plan Continued: PICOT (part 2):

Select a health education research reference specific to your aggregate and teaching topic as the basis for your PICOT paragraph outline.

The outline includes:
1. Type of research study from the research article
2. PICOT components from the research article (How many people were in the study, and what were the characteristics of the population in the research study; what was the specific intervention, what was the comparison, what were the specific outcomes, and over what time period )
3. Nursing implication/s for your planned topic/teaching plan- what would you use or not use in your teaching based on the research
4. APA formatted reference.

Teahing plan part 3:
Health Literacy: SMOG and readability
Evaluate 1 brochure or online resource related to sexually transmitted diseases using SMOG to evaluate for readability levels using the following questions. Scan the front page, or include the website link with your teaching plan. SMOG Readability Assessment
a. What is the title and publication date of the pamphlet or website?
b. What agency or person authored/sponsored the pamphlet or website?
c. Who is the intended (targeted) audience for the information?
d. What is the estimated readability level of the pamphlet/brochure or website using
the SMOG formula?
Write a brief paragraph and include the following information:
How might the readability level compare with the abilities and needs of your aggregate?
How suitable was the pamphlet for the majority of your aggregate?
Describe 1(one) strength of the pamphlet or website for the information presented
Describe how you might improve the pamphlet or website for the target (intended)
audience
Part 3 can be very brief.
