Student Internship Final Report

Objective: To describe and evaluate the total internship experience. The final report outline includes the following information:

1)Title Page
a. Name, agency information, site supervisor information, internship dates

2) Table of Contents
a. Table of contents should clearly outline all sections of the report.

3) Agency Description

a. Detailed information about the agency’s demographic information, clients or customers which include factors such as age, gender, social, economic background.

b. Information about organizations programs, facilities, leadership-personnel, fiscal and general administrative procedures.

4) Student Accomplishments

a. Detailed summary of duties and responsibilities achieved throughout the semester

b. Describe a significant experience that changed how you view the industry or internship experience.

5) Self Analysis

a. Reflect on your experience and areas where you experienced professional/personal growth and where you feel you could improve upon in the following areas:

Communication Skills Ethics/Decision Making Skills Business Knowledge Self-Management/Managerial Skills Critical Thinking Skills

6) Conclusions and Recommendations

a. A discussion of future career interests and needs, settings that best match your personality, types of leadership styles that best match you.

b. A discussion of courses, books, workshops, etc. that you feel would have benefited you going into the internship experience.

c. Recommendations of the agency and the university

7) Appendix

a. Attach copies of materials and projects that you worked on throughout the semester (For example: programs, flyers, reports, etc.)

b. Attach copies of materials that you feel would be useful in classroom instruction.

Requirements: The paper must be well written with proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and references. The Internship Final Project will be a minimum of 9 to 10 typed pages plus a title page and a reference page; bringing the total to 11 or12 pages.The paper will be double-spaced using 12-point “Times New Roman” font and

standard one-inch margins. The paper must be correctly formatted and documented using the APA style. An abstract is not required.

References-At least five (5) peer review sources must be cited in addition to the text.

Sources: You must use scholarly sources only (peer-reviewed journal articles or books) for this Internship Project paper.Use primary sources whenever possible. You should also expect to include documentation (personal interviews) in this paper so you should become familiar with how to cite a personal interview per APA. All sources must be cited in the text of your paper and listed on the reference page of your paper. The paper must be prepared using the APA style manual. The use of any other writing style will result in a failing grade.
