Rogerian Argument Rough Draft
*I have attached the Rogerian Argument Outline that I have done that you will be adding the four new paragraphs onto and will attach the outline that has to followed.
Instructions:
1. Use the Outline you completed in last week’s lesson. Write your introduction paragraph, including your previously written thesis statement, plus draft the first four body paragraphs and add those. Refer back to the Annotated Rogerian Argument Outline PDF to be sure that you’re meeting the purpose of each paragraph.
2. Upload your introduction paragraph, plus the first four body paragraphs for your classmates to read and offer feedback.
3. Choose two of your classmates’ essays to read and answer the following five questions for them:
1. Does the introduction provide enough background and context so that you understand the broad topic and the more specific disagreement on the issue?
2. Does the thesis statement reflect the purpose of a Rogerian Argument?
3. In the body paragraphs, do the explanations of each perspective stay neutral?
4. In the body paragraphs, is the main claim/position of each side made clear?
5. Are all quotes integrated and is every parenthetical citation correctly formatted?
