Please review and rewrite this essay if necessary in a storyline fashion
The year was 2002, I moved to Nashville, TN after graduating High School and realizing warehouse work wasn’t for me. I felt I needed to seek and grow into my own independence and be a part of the production industry. I was not a musician, but my young brother and I together had a passion for lighting and sound production within our local church.
I would like to say this is a positive story, but I cannot. It’s a more so unique story of redemption yes, I learned a lot about myself and in the four years, I lived in Nashville. I had my ups and downs. Got to enjoy seeing a lot of artists like Maroon 5, George Strait, Jessica Simpson, and P.O.D just to name a few.
I never knew anything outside of yourself and the community growing up. I was raised in a church home, going to church every time the doors were open. Am I a God-fearing man? absolutely. Do I fall short of his glory, sure I’m human.
Going back to my time in Nashville, I let myself become entangled in a lifestyle I never knew and it destroyed me and changed me negatively. I Believe, my fall in Nashville led me down a path of seeking something new and better for my life. In 2006, I was able to move back into my parents’ home. I wish I could say that was the end of my downfall, but my demons followed in that year. I decided to challenge myself even more to reach new heights.
After a year working back at that Warehouse job, I told about earlier in this story. I made an extreme decision to join the United States Marine Corps. I did this with no counsel, However, it became the challenge I was looking for, the life-changing decision that altered my life tremendously. I learned self-discipline, commitment, as well as structure just to name a few. All this to say I use these skills today as a Director of baseball operations, but also as a coach and mentor to Baseball players from around the world.
