To be considered a valid attempt, your complete dissertation submission must fulfil all the following requirements:

The dissertation project must have been initiated by the submission of an acceptable dissertation proposal form by the deadline.
The student must have submitted an ethics approval form by the deadline and their study must have obtained ethics approval from the IMS prior to collecting and analysing data.
The main text of the dissertation must be 7,000 words (+/- 10%).
The dissertation file and raw data file(s) must be submitted by the 30th of April 2021 at noon (12 pm) BST. Please notice that if you only submit your dissertation file by the appropriate deadline without the supporting raw data file(s), your submission will not be considered a valid attempt.

To achieve a passing mark, your dissertation must be an empirical piece of research.

If any of the following formatting requirements are not followed, 5 marks will be deducted from your final grade:

Your dissertation file must be typed in Microsoft Word using Times New Roman size of 12, 1-inch margins, and 1.5 spacing.
Your dissertation file must adopt the following running order: title page (separate page); declaration of originality; acknowledgements (optional); table of contents; the main text of the dissertation; references; and appendices (optional).
Your dissertation file must include the following information on the title page: Goldsmiths, University of London; student number; title of your dissertation; date of submission; name of supervisor; word count (for the main text of the dissertation); and this statement: “This dissertation is submitted in partial fulfilment of the <insert your programme title here>.”
