Legalization of marijuana for recreational use

Paper Requirements:

Paragraph 1 Introduction
Your Introduction should provide your audience with a clear topic. Additionally, some context and background should be provided so your reader has some understanding as to why the topic is important and relatable to them. Your introductory paragraph should end with a thesis that provides a roadmap of your arguments presented in your body paragraphs.

Body paragraphs (2-4)
Each body paragraph should have a topic sentence. The topic should then be defined and then analyzed and developed to support your thesis. Each body paragraph requires research (a source) to support your argument. You should provide analysis of your research source to support your analysis of the topic. Your body paragraph should conclude with your reader having a clear understanding of your position on the topic with objective information/data to support your claim.

Objection paragraph
Provide an objection to one of your topic paragraphs. Raise an argument that an opposing view might have with evidence to support the argument. Then provide a rebuke for the rebuttal claim to demonstrate the soundness of your claim.

Conclusion paragraph
Summarize the main points and provide your reader with something to take away so they feel they understand the importance your paper.

Five library sources are required of which two must be scholarly sources and one a peer reviewed source.

The outline I provided for the paper:
P1: Since 2012, multiple states have legalized marijuana for recreational use. The legalization of marijuana for recreational use would provide society with many benefits.
P2: Legalizing marijuana would free up law enforcement to be able to focus on serious crimes such as dangerous drugs and violent acts. This would also allow individuals who have criminal charges due to possession and/or use of marijuana to have those records expunged which would allow them to obtain employment and housing that would otherwise be restricted to them.
P3: Job creation and an increase in tax revenue would be provided by the recreational legalization of marijuana. This would provide funds to enhance the education system, law enforcement, and other public services.
P4: Legalization would allow restrictions on production and sales of marijuana. By putting age restrictions on the purchase of marijuana, like alcohol and tobacco products, it would reduce the availability of the drug to adolescents.
P5: Legalization of marijuana would lead to an increase in “drugged driving” or dui/dwi as well as lead to an increase in youth consumption.
P6: The recreational legalization of marijuana is bound to have a giant impact on society. It may allow states to provide the funds to their schooling systems to ensure proper pay for the many teacher that play a vital role in educating the young people of this country. The regulation that legalization would provide would make it more difficult for adolescents to obtain and use marijuana.
