Global Health Governance of the healthcare of refugees
Below are the instructions provided by the professor. I typically posit LGBTQ experiences in my writing and would appreciate some focus on this sub-population as it relates to Global Health Governance.
Each student will select a health problem that has received or requires a global governance
response. The paper should at a minimum contain the following elements.
● Define health problem. Who is affected by the problem? What factors contribute to the
problem?
● Who are the global organizations, consortiums, or networks that have or need to respond to
the health problem
● What has been the response to the health problem thus far by the global actors you
identified above
● What are the multilateral and other forums that may be best suited to shape governance
processes to address the health problem? What has been done thus far?
● Which tools and mechanisms have succeeded or failed to “govern” the health problem, and
why
● How has the current state of global governance affected the implementation of health
actions to address the problem at the country level

● What are the human rights and health equity issues that need to be taken into
consideration in shaping a global governance approach to the health problem?
● What do you see as the governance gaps that affect the response to the health problem
● Are there innovative approaches that you might suggest to advance the global health
governance of the health problem?
● Any other elements that you think important for the successful global response to the
health problem
