Family Assessment & Intervention Assignment
This assignment will provide you with the opportunity to assess and intervene with a multi-stressed family. Choose one of the Family Assessment Movies listed on page 261 of your Thomlison text (you may not use What’s Cooking or Parenthood again for this assignment!). You may also choose another movie or a TV series with permission from your instructor. This assignment requires you to assess and plan an intervention for a family. The paper should be written in a professional manner with subheadings and complete sentences. You are also required to use correct APA (6th edition) and empirical evidence. Use a minimum of 5 peer-reviewed sources.

Identify and describe who is in the family and who may be important non-family participants (1 point)
Describe the family patterns and state your evidence of:
Weak or strong boundaries; between whom? (3 points)
How conflict is managed? (3 points)
Are there coalitions or is anyone triangulated? (3 points)
Complete a genogram for your family. The genogram should include the ages of each family member if known, and symbols indicating if couples are separated or divorced; and indicating relationships with strong or weak boundaries and coalitions and conflict. (3 points)

Use information from evidence-based sources as a guide for selecting your intervention methods or programs to which you are referring. Cite research that supports this method. You may organize your strategies around common factors and qualify as evidence based but you must name the common factors you are following and show how you are using them.
