For the first part, students will create an annotated bibliography with a provided format which collects 10 credible sources, summarizes them, and addresses how they contribute to the ethnography paper’s topic.

For the second part, the ethnography report, students will compose a document which thoroughly explores and examines a professional field of interest for the individual; basically, the assignment tasks the student with selecting a line of work s/he might like to go in to (or one you are currently in and would like to advance) and then create a document which presents information pertinent to it. This includes interviewing at least one professional in the field, discussing various types of writing and modes of expression, overviews of any possible trainings, specialties, job and educational requirements, pay, benefits, etc., while also investigating any language/jargon used. On the References page, list only the sources used within the ethnography report.

At least 5 credible sources will be used for the report (these can be pulled from the list of 10 for the annotated bibliography). The combined assignment (both parts total) must be a minimum of 2,500 words (approximately 10 pages) and a maximum of 3,000 words (approximately 12 pages). Use the assigned template, as this assignment is required to be in APA format.

Do note, each part of this assignment contains specific source requirements which are outlined below:

o Annotated Bibliography (10 Total Sources)

(1) Library Book: You don’t have to come to Isothermal’s library to obtain the book; it can be any public library or setting which houses research books. You may also use an e-book to satisfy this requirement.

(1) Interview: A professional in the field; preferably this will be face-to-face, but if schedules do not permit, email and/or phone are acceptable. Plan early for this source because it is usually the most time-consuming and difficult to obtain. You want to be professional and ask questions that pertain to the field at hand. If you have trouble thinking of someone and/or trouble generating questions, let me know, and I will help.

(1) Google Scholar: A good place to look for scholarly sources outside of library-related databases. Access this here.

(1) Films-on-Demand: It’s always a good idea to incorporate videos into your research. You can access this database through NCLive on the library’s website.

(1) Chart/Graph: Where this originates may vary. Regardless, it should contain data/statistics which support your topic at hand.

(2) Library-Related Databases: This includes articles, journals, newspapers, etc., from NCLive, ProQuest, EBSCOHost, etc.

(3) “Surface Web” Sources: These may be found through search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. For this assignment, it would be wise to search for associations, memberships, affiliations, etc., which pertain to your chosen field.
