Rubric: Students will use a word processor program (i.e. Microsoft Word, Libre Office, Google Docs, etc.) and can compile/create the following for their final projects: ● 10 Points: Working Title – What is the name of the game? ● 10 Points: Lighting Description – Why should we be excited about your game? ● 20 Points: Description of play experience including: ○ The goal of the game ○ Context of play ○ Number of Players ● 20 Points: Basic elements of the game. Be able to describe and answer: ○ What are the actions, goals, object, rules and playspace? ● 20 Points: Layout a system map of your game. You can use PowerPoint, Paint, Google Slides or even the shapes in your Word program of choice to create the map. Remember the system map denotes the controls and navigation process for the player in a visual manner. Have your system map show the following: ○ Starting a New Game/Logging in ○ Character Options/Editing ○ Changing Options for play (i.e. Audio controls, interface, etc.) ● 20 Points: Create what you think the interface of the game would look like. Note that this does not need to be a final version and shape placeholders are accepted. For the control schematics, think about where your game will be released, and document the controls accordingly (Ex. – Will the player move on the computer using the WASD keys?) ● 20 Points: Game flow diagram showing how the player interacts with the game. What would the player have to complete in order to finish a level? Create a diagram/layout showing one level/area of game flow. ● 20 Points: Provide a description of the overall theme for the game. Include information such as genre, what era the game is taking place in and other elements to help describe this. ● 20 Points: Character Concepts/Personas – Provide Character concepts for the Protagonist and Antagonist of your game. MMC160, Updated: FA2020 ● 20 Points: Moodboards for art direction (e.g. visual and sound design). This can include images/concept art from the web. Students can place the images in their document. ● 20 Points: Technical overview of what will be needed to play the game. Remember, think about the user and what will they have to have to be able to run your game?
