1. What is the relationship between leadership and ethical standards? This question brings to mind how our government continues to work to push for legislation and laws to protect the environment. Of course that protection comes with the cost as they are being lobbied and have different interests swing them to push for certain regulations that will benefit big business. Ultimately comes down to the individual representing our communities in Capitol Hill to make the right decision. Almost like that Evan Almighty movie plot… Or the corruption was finally exposed at the end of the movie after the damn collapsed. From what I understand the message of the movie is that we will no longer be affected by biblical disasters it was more the harm that the human race is doing to our world. Your Thoughts?

2. I think leadership and ethics go hand in hand. When I think of leaders, I don’t think of managers or directors. I think of people who are examples to follow. Strong leadership exemplify ethical standards and provide that guidance for those to follow. Leaders who walk the walk instead of talking the talk, create loyal and motivated followers.Today’s challenge with covid and continuing to maintain our organizations is a struggle. More people are working from home due to social distancing and quarantining than ever before. Fortunately, there are several communication apps that allow teams, managers, business partners, and clients the ability to fave face to fave meetings without jeopardizing each other’s health. Without applications like Microsoft Teams, GoTo Meeting, Skype, and Zoom, many more businesses would be suffering a great deal more. Your Thoughts?

3. I feel that leadership and ethical standards are inter-related. A good leader always motivates his/her followers to indulge in ethically sound activities. A leader has the power to move his followers in desired directions. Also, if any problem arises among the group, it’s the leader’s responsibility to solve the issues by making ethically sound decisions. On the other hand, a bad leader doesn’t care about morals or ethical standards and manipulates his/her group members for the benefit of self and/or a particular group of people. This brings me back to my time in the military where you would have some good leaders and then you would have your bad ones too. The bad ones are the ones that don’t want your opinion even though you’ve deployed multiple times but they don’t care and your opinion and advice ain’t worth their time. On the other hand, you have the good leaders the ones that listen and take your advice from their section and squad leaders and build from that to make something into a solid plan that we can all agree on.
