A 5 minute presentation(including script), proposing a research project on the theme of Mummification.
Mummification
A project to apply a new scientific approach to analysis of human remains.
A new fieldwork project to identify sites within a particular study area or region.
A publication of results from recent analysis (as a monograph or through an engaging online resource)
The list is not exhaustive but shows the scope and range of projects that could be funded. Try and identify an aspect (topic, theme or site) that you are interested in – then think what you would like to do with it, it maybe you want to undertake more research (lab or field based), or you might want to publish it or produce a visitor guide.
Theres two part in the assignment.
1) The formative assessment is in two parts and will be the ‘application stage’.
1. You are asked to submit an expression of interest for a grant that will be funded from one of the grant sources. The expression of interest (500 words) should include:
Project title
Project aims and objectives (max 250 words)
Project research methodology and rationale (max 250 words)
2. A 2-page CV must be submitted with the expression of interest form.

For the summative assessment, you are invited to the interview stage for your funding to undertake your archaeological project. You are asked to present a 5-minute pitch for your project.
The presentation should be in recorded in powerpoint (or equivalent)
In pitching the project you will need to think about the:
Project aims and objectives (think about the critical debates, content and issues covered by your course)
Project research methodology and rationale (think about the critical debates, content and issues covered by your course)
Why you should be supported as the project leader
Remember you need to clearly present your project and sell yourself as the project leader.
Templates for the pitch – the pitch is only very short (5 minutes). You need to clearly communicate the key facts about your project and your role as the project leader. Spend a short time on:
Project Aims and objectives
Project Approach, Research Methodology and Rationale (remember this will be different depending on what your project aims to achieve)
Why you should be supported as the project leader (use your CV and think about how your skills fit the project).
