Application Paper: Unit 5
Write a short paper (3-5 pages double-spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margins) that builds on the work you did based on Units 3 and 4 and covers the following points:
Name the problem that was identified in the Unit 3 Application Paper as the client’s top priority. If the problem definition has changed or been refined as a result of information gathered during exploration of the self, state and explain the new problem definition and how the shift occurred.
Name three resources that you and the client can use to explore contextual and labour market factors that might influence the client’s problem. Explain how the resources you have chosen relate to the problem, and why they are suitable choices for this client.
Explain your responsibilities as the counsellor to help your client access and use the career information s/he needs. Describe any strategies you will use to help your client turn career data to career information.
Include a brief introductory paragraph (with a thesis/purpose statement) and a brief concluding paragraph. Feel free to use subheadings if this helps you to organize your writing. Cite your sources and format your reference page using APA style (6th ed.).
