Based upon your reading of ‘An Unquiet Mind’, respond to the questions listed below. Provide a brief summary of novel, covering pages 67-123. Include a description of the progression of Kay’s symptoms and treatment services obtained to this point.

Describe two key theories discussed in the textbook that might help to explain the beneficial role of peer support in helping Kay progress toward recovery. Review the challenges of providing peer supports discussed in the text and identify 3 main challenges that Kay may encounter.
Kay resisted taking medication that can help her for a period of time. Why did she resist taking Lithium and for what reasons did she change her mind? What side effects did Kay experience from taking Lithium?
Describe Kay’s symptoms and reasons for admission to treatment. Do you believe her treatment was effective? Provide a rationale and site the book specifically.
In the novel Kay indicates that society tends to hold the notion that depression is what women experience, while manic behaviors seem to be more associated with men. How could this stereotyping impact treatment being provided?
