After you have read the biography of Benjamin Franklin that is provided in unit 1, please write a 500+ word essay identifying what you see as his three most important contributions. This essay will require a minimum of 2 research-quality academic sources. You must use the biography provided in unit 1 as one of your sources. Wikipedia is a public resource that can be updated by anyone. Information on Wikipedia is unacceptable as an academic resource. You will need to cite these references at the end of your paper and make in-text citations using APA formatting.
THE FIVE-PARAGRAPH ESSAY (500+ words) When writing this essay please use the five-paragraph format. This structure is intended to help students break down their analysis and reflection into specific content blocks. It is also there to give students an understanding that in academic writing there is a balance of information. The introduction and the conclusions are just as important as the evidentiary body portions of the paper. You will become a better writer in the long run if there is more balance in your writing. In this case, each paragraph should be approximately 100+ words long. This is by no means the only formula for writing such essays, but for this assignment, it serves our purposes well.
