Poetry project Instructions
For this Project my Language Arts teacher wants this poetry project to be written in a narrative form meaning into an essay. The Country my teacher assigned me was Mexico. For the standards I want to be from the Scope and Sequence Social studies and either 3rd or 4th grade will be fine. I will attach the poetry format in the file section, I will also attach the poetry forms example she said we can choose when we have to create our own one. Down below is the link to the scope and sequence standards I want you to use for either 3rd or 4th grade.
Part 1 : International Poem : Title and Description
You would be looking at place, where it took place, where the author lives,
What was happening in the time period
What was happening in the authors poets life
Will show if that poetry was influenced by all of those aspects
Get background of poet first
In a narrative you are writing it into an essay,
Research articles or a book ( it can be either), an article a children would use from the outside
Different kinds of format you can teach your children
Part 2 : Analysis of American Poem
Find an American poem and poet
How would you teach a lesson
Grade level either 3rd or 4th grade
Part 3: Fictional Genre
What if the legend or tale/ myth does not describe the country you was given ( Mexico)
Explain why it doesn’t connect example teacher said in class: If poet comes from Paris, myth or legend that comes from France does not talk but more of the person that’s in it,
Explain what both of them have, explain what both do not have
Legend that does not talk about a place, explain what 1 has and what the other one has
You will contrast it if they don’t share similarities

Part 4: Comparison of international poem and genre
So if the message is similar the poem and the genre, fictional genre, ex: maybe both of them talk about caring and loving
Maybe it talks about people and relationships
If it works all easily compare all 3 the American the international and the fictional
Create a rubric for this project, if you were teaching a class, one that would evaluate the essential points of the genre and the overall comparisons of the students.
Would you assessed their connection, writing, the imaginative aspects of their writing
