The final assignment requires you to produce a 15-minute narrated PowerPoint presentation in order to provide an overview of the evidence you have collected regarding the clinical issue, health problem or service delivery issue that you identified in Assignment 1 and reviewed in Assignment 2.
The presentation should be organized into the following areas:
· Title Slide
· Main Body (Address the following questions):
ü What is the clinical issue, health problem or service delivery issue that you have identified?
ü Based on the 3 research articles you reviewed in Assignment 2, what is the overall strength of the evidence?
ü What does this evidence tell us should be done to address the clinical issue, health problem or service delivery issue?
ü Is this change feasible?
ü Would this change improve clinical outcomes?
ü Would this change improve patient and/or nurse satisfaction?
ü Would this change reduce the cost of care for patients?
ü Would this change improve unit operation?
· APA (7th ed.) reference list
The final assignment should be 12-15 slides in length in order to meet the 15-minute maximum time limit requirement. Presentations over or under the time limit by more than 1:00 will be penalized.
Please note that you will need to use more than 1 slide per question in order to meet the 12 to 15 slide requirement. Title and Reference slides do not count towards the assignment requirements.
See the Assignment 3 Rubric for grading criteria.
When you are ready, upload the assignment in the appropriate Turnitin dropbox. Keep similarity scores to 25% or less.
Total Possible Points: 35
Assignments submitted after the due date will be penalized at 5% per day. Late assignments will not be accepted more than 5 days after the due date, unless preapproval from the instructor has been obtained in writing. Note due dates and times posted in the course. Be sure to contact the instructor if you believe you must submit an assignment after the due date. Contact with the instructor regarding late assignments after the allowable 5 days does not guarantee approval to submit the assignment outside this time frame. Approvals outside the 5 days are generally provided for extenuating circumstances only.
A note about PowerPoint presentations:
Many students are unclear as to what a PowerPoint is or is not. A PowerPoint is not a paper simply broken up onto slides. A PowerPoint is a visual enhancement to your information. The bulk of the work for the presentation will be in your speaker notes, which will serve as your narration.
Your speaker notes, therefore, should comprise a 15-minute speech on your topic, as if you have been invited to lecture on your research. The slides are designed to highlight the important points you wish to make, using a visual medium to reinforce teaching and learning. A good rule of thumb is that each slide’s narration be about a minute in length, or around 100 to 150 words.
Several examples of PowerPoints with speaker notes are provided in a folder under Course Content for your review. Please note that they are not related to this assignment but merely serve as exemplars.
Finally, keep the slides simple yet scholarly. A good guide is the Rule of 7×7: no more than 7 lines of text per slide and no more than 7 words per line. Smart art graphics are there to help visually organize your material, as opposed to an endless succession of slides with bullet points.
